Ey up! We’re delighted to announce Matt Rudman as our newest Director of Transport Planning helping to steer the development of more connected, equitable and liveable communities.

With 30 years of transport planning and engineering experience, Matt joins us to lead our team in Leeds. It comes at a pivotal moment as the region continues to put transport investment and connectivity front and centre and transitions towards a more integrated, sustainable, and people-centric infrastructure model.

Alongside the wider interdisciplinary team at Rappor, Matt’s expertise means we’re addressing regional challenges in Yorkshire and the northeast of England through providing expertise, professional analysis and practical experience, ensuring that new developments can come forward and embrace place-based approaches that have a positive impact on the quality of life in local communities.

Commenting on his appointment, Matt Rudman said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Rappor in Leeds. It’s a great time to be joining a values-based engineering consultancy that places the wellbeing of people, partnerships, and the environment at the forefront of everything it does. I’m looking forward to working alongside our clients and partners who are seeking to develop and regenerate the region in ways that reflect its unique identity.”

Prior to joining our team, Matt worked on many transport infrastructure and development projects in the region and brings a wide-ranging awareness of the approaches and engineering solutions needed to unlock the potential of places being held back by poor transport links and missed opportunities.

Matt is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. He holds a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds and is studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Senior Leadership at Leeds Trinity University.

An engaged and active influencer across the built environment community, Matt is the Chair of the Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Bradford Property Forum. He also founded and continues to run the Leeds Property and Development Group, alongside Peacock + Smith, and Royal Pilgrim.
