Established presence in Hereford

HELLO FROM HEREFORD

We are thrilled to announce that Rappor is now firmly rooted in the beautiful city of Hereford, working from the extraordinary Shell Store! Our commitment to delivering exceptional services continues to grow, and we are delighted to extend our reach to this vibrant and historic location.

THE SHELL STORE: A GLIMPSE INTO HISTORY

Nestled within Herefordshire, just outside the city centre, The Shell Store is a testament to architectural grandeur. This iconic structure, refurbished in June 2021 into a modern business and innovation centre, has been integral to the city’s landscape. Its history and unique design support our endeavours, inspiring us to create innovative solutions that honour the past while embracing the future.

A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME: WORLD WAR AND THE CANARIES

The Shell Store has witnessed the turbulent eras of both World War One and Two. During the Second World War, around 950,000 British Women earned the name ‘The Canary Girls’ as they toiled in Munitions Factories. In tribute to these extraordinary women, the Business Coffee Lounge within The Shell Store bears the name ‘The Munitions’, preserving their legacy. Stepping into this remarkable expanse, we’re deeply moved by the narratives it encapsulates, fueling our drive to make a meaningful impact on the community it serves.

The Canary Girls, a dedicated group of women during World War Two, played an essential role at The Shell Store in Hereford. These courageous workers undertook dangerous tasks, filling shells with explosive materials, often exposed to hazardous chemicals that turned their skin yellow – earning them the nickname “Canary Girls.” Despite the risks, they persevered, contributing significantly to the war effort. Their unwavering commitment and resilience exemplified women’s vital role in supporting the frontlines. The Canary Girls’ contributions at The Shell Store in Hereford are a poignant testament to their invaluable service during a critical historical period.
